A taste of the norm

Well this weekend was the first one back coaching on the water within the guidelines laid out by the RYA and my local club Exe SC.

All I can say is it felt amazing. To be back out on the water coaching and watching individuals develop not matter the level is the best feeling in the world. All of my jobs have been about helping other develop, helping them go on to achieve and giving them the confidence to believe.

Running two small groups of 4 and 5 over the weekend in great conditions out of one of the best places in the world it is hard not to be left with the biggest grin. For the individuals to get back out under instruction and develop the sport the love suddenly feels like things are getting back to normal and the shouts of joy, smiles and tired bodies and faces at the end was a clear indication.

Great to see so many people at the club again whether out paddling, rigging new boats, getting out with family or just bimbling on boats.

Great to catch up and have a bit of banter with Gareth Steenson and Ben Moon who were getting to grips with the new toy and smashing their level 2 powerboating. Look forward to seeing you boys out on the water soon.

Well its time for everyone to maximise the summer and get out on the water. I cant wait for the next loads of sessions that are booked in and if I get a free day then well I think i know where I will be.

Well done to everyone at Exe SC who has been involved with getting things back up and running and in a safe and controlled way. Lets keep the momentum up.
