Extremes in Oman
Wow we talk about the time flying start to the year, well the extreme sailing series certainly did that with some of the best conditions throughout 4 days of champagne sailing on the waters around Muscat, Oman.
The series opener thrilled spectators from all around the globe whether watching the racing first hand in the Extreme Club or watching the live streaming on the ESS youtube channel. 27 races completed and with an exciting line up with 3 wildcard entries ensured this world class stadium racing series was going to showcase some of the best racing yet. 4 of the most experienced teams from the ESS battled it out through the final few races to where it was a 3 way battle to see where they would end up on the podium.
Not only did it keep everyone on their toes watching this racing but also sparks the excitment of how close the racing is going to be through the 2017 series. With new venues that add to the challenge this year certainly is going to one to keep an eye on.
A massive congratulations for SAP Extreme Sailing Team who came out the victor but a huge well done to all of the teams that battled it out on the fast and furious day 4 with big winds and steep, short sharp waves made it brutal on all the crews but the chance of making a mistake high. With the boats all being packed up and sent of to the home of the 2008 Olympics (sailing venue) Qingdao it leaves all hungry to see who will come out on top in Act 2.
